Terms of Service

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Plain-English summary

BudgetOS is a personal budgeting tool. It helps you track your own money — it is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Use it as a helpful organizer, and always make your own financial decisions.

1. Acceptance of terms

BudgetOS (the "Service") is operated by IN-DEV SOLUTIONS INC. ("we," "us"), a corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What BudgetOS is — and is not

BudgetOS is a personal finance tracking and budgeting application. It is provided for informational and organizational purposes only. BudgetOS does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Any insights, projections, "smart savings" suggestions, or pace estimates are automated calculations based on the data you enter and should not be relied upon as professional advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

3. Your account

4. Bank & card connections (account aggregation)

BudgetOS offers an optional feature to connect a bank or credit-card account so your transactions sync automatically. By connecting an account you agree that:

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access other users' data, disrupting the Service, reverse-engineering it for malicious purposes, or using it for any unlawful activity.

6. Your data

You retain ownership of the financial data you enter. Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. You may export or delete your data at any time.

On supported devices you may enable an optional biometric App Lock (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint). Biometric verification is performed entirely by your device's operating system; BudgetOS never receives or stores your biometric data. App Lock is a convenience feature and is not a substitute for keeping your device and account credentials secure.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep BudgetOS available and accurate, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations will be free of inaccuracies.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BudgetOS and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any financial loss, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service.

9. Subscriptions and payments

BudgetOS offers free features and paid subscriptions. Some features — including automatic bank and card sync — are available only on a paid plan or during a free trial. Applicable pricing, trial length, and billing terms are presented to you at the point of purchase and processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their terms. Free features may change over time.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable for partial periods. Prices are in Canadian dollars and may vary by region or store.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or legal risk.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The elements that may be amended include plan features, pricing, and the provisions of these Terms. For non-material changes — such as corrections of errors, legal-compliance updates, or new features that do not reduce your existing rights — we may update these Terms by posting the revised version, and your continued use constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will notify you at least 30 days before the change takes effect — in the app and by email — stating what is changing, the new text, and the effective date. If you do not accept a material change, you may cancel your subscription and stop using the Service before the effective date; for paid plans, Quebec consumers (and others where required by law) may also cancel without penalty within 30 days after the change takes effect and receive a pro-rated refund of any prepaid amount for the period after cancellation. Any subscription price increase is applied through the Apple App Store or Google Play price-change process, which requires your consent under their rules.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Before bringing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@budgetos.ca so we can try to resolve it. Any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the courts of the Province of Ontario, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction.

13. Intellectual property and trademarks

The BudgetOS name, logo, design, and software are owned by BudgetOS and its developer. All other product names, merchant names, brand names, and logos referenced in the app are the property of their respective owners. Where the app displays a merchant's name or a stylized initial next to a transaction, it does so solely to help you identify your own transactions (nominative use). This does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement by those merchants, and BudgetOS claims no rights in their marks.
